What Does Google Want From Your Website?
ByGoogle has quite a list of wants. They have high standards for what they are trying to provide to their audience. They want sites that
- provide fresh content on a regular basis
- are serious about the topic in their domain name and site title
- sites that have depth for the key words the visitor has inquired about
- is popular which is proven by traffic
- participates in social media
- provides a lot of basics like about us, faqs, testimonials,
- have domains that have been existence for a long time
- have incoming links from authority sites
- sites that have built traffic slowly but steadily
The best way new sites can start building some cache with Google is to create new content everyday using the keywords for the site niche. Google will note the increasing depth of the site for the key words and use the depth to compare the site with competitors.
If the posts or pages are relevant to the inquiries Google is getting for information or sources, they may start to throw your name into the mix. If you are tweeting or posting your new information to Twitter, Face Book, or other social media sites, Google is likely to pick up those posts to your site and give them top rating.
If your domain name has nothing to do with your business, you don’t have key words in depth on your site relating to your niche or what you are selling, don’t refresh your content, have poor site structure, it loads too slow, or don’t mix with social media, you are going to have trouble getting some of the free love Google hands out.
