Relieve Stress by Reducing Procrastination

Stress is often the result of not being able to think clearly.

Anxiety results when the alpha waves that power the brain have too high of a hertz count. Normal active brain hertz waves are around 30. When this count is exceeded the results are anxiety, ADD, and even Post traumatic stress disorder.

The healthy ways to stimulate normal brain activity are exercise, meditation, and beta wave nutritional support. The other ways to support normal brain waves are to eliminate stress inducing stimulus.

Trying to do too many things at once may create adrenaline, but over revved adrenaline leads to anxiety. Perfectly regulated adrenaline from focusing on one task in which you have competence and enjoy can lead to flow or being in the zone

If you could structure your perfect day, you would work on tasks at which you have competence and enjoy while eliminating distractions. If you could engage without thinking about judgment or reward you would be perfectly in the zone. In this state, your brain produces dopamine which would make you feel happy. That is why sports and activities that totally absorb us become addictive.

What distracts us? Unpleasant tasks that have to be completed that weigh on our mind because we don’t want to begin. Worries and fears about future events create anxiety. Too much stimulus from TV, emails, text messages, daily news, gossip, cell phones, and social networking. Eliminating the addictive use of any of the above can reduce stress.

Unhealthy consumption habits throw off our bodies and our brains creating stress. Bad foods, alcohol, sugar, cigarettes, drugs, and caffeine are all taken to change our mood, but the long term affect is more stress.

So if you had a healthy diet, exercised daily, took care of responsibilities immediately, engaged in your passionate activities daily, and reduced the bad consumption habits, you would feel like a million bucks.
